The American Red Cross chapter in Newington provides a nursing assistant course. The program includes 120 hours of class instruction and 60 hours in clinical, and both day and evening classes are available. The limit for class sizes is 16, but there must be at least 12 students enrolled. New Hampshire has chapters around the state that may also provide the same training. There's also a clear advantage to taking classes at the American Red Cross. According to the American Red Cross Website, 95 percent of the program's graduates are placed in employment.

The Cedarcrest Center for Children with Disabilities is a facility for special needs children that also offers free training programs to the community. According to Cedarcrest's Website, the nursing assistant course lasts five weeks, with evening classes Monday through Friday and one class on Saturday. People who are interested must fill out an application and take a test to qualify.
