Certified Nursing Assistants, also known as CNAs, work in hospitals and nursing care facilities. The primary function of a CNA is to assist patients with performing their daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing or grooming. CNAs work under the supervision of a nurse, and are responsible for monitoring a patient's health using medical equipment and by checking patient vital signs. The training runs for 6 to 12 weeks. Applicants must have a high school diploma or a GED to enroll in a CNA program.
