Greensburg has a variety of vocational programs. Triangle Tech offers associate degree programs in architectural and mechanical drafting, heating and air conditioning (HVAC), carpentry and other trades. The Greensburg campus also offers a diploma program for HVAC mechanics. The Education and Technology Institute provides a number of business, medical and computer-related programs.
Youngwood is 11 miles south of Greensburg on Pennsylvania 66 Turnpike. It is home to the main campus of Westmoreland County Community College (WCCC). WCCC offers well over 100 vocational programs, ranging from certificates and diplomas to associate degrees. Students who want to pursue higher degrees can transfer their credits to outside institutions. Local 354 of the Plumbers and Pipefitters also offers apprenticeship programs in Youngwood.
Conformance Technologies (ConformTech) offers specialized training in the production of circuit boards and related high-tech skills. They are located in Monroeville, about 15 miles from Jeannette on Hwy 130. The Career Training Academy is also located in Monroeville, offering programs in business, health care and massage therapy. The Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics in West Mifflin, 20 miles west on Lincoln Hwy., has a variety of programs in aviation-related fields as well as heavy equipment and general technology.
Several high schools in Westmoreland and Alleghany Counties are designated Career and Technology Centers (CTCs), offering trades and technical training to high school students and adults in their communities. Those close to Jeannette include the Central Westmoreland CTC 11 miles south in New Stanton, the Eastern Westmoreland CTC 20 miles west in Latrobe and Forbes Rd. CTC in Monroeville.
