Eastern Westmoreland Career & Technology Center in Latrobe offers vocational and technical programs in several areas of study. Programs offered include automotive technology, cabinetmaking, construction trades, culinary arts, graphic communications, health occupation technology, machine tool technology, masonry and welding technology. Math and English classes are also offered for students who seek assistance in those areas. In addition, a skills center offers services in the areas of goal-setting, aptitude-testing, organizational assistance, study skills, self-appraisals and interviewing skills.
Triangle Tech is located in Greensburg, 10 miles west of Latrobe. The Greensburg campus is one of five Triangle Tech locations in the state of Pennsylvania. Triangle Tech-Greensburg offers programs in architectural computer-aided drafting and design technology, mechanical computer-aided drafting and design technology, maintenance electricity and construction technology, refrigeration/heating/ventilation/air-conditioning technology and carpentry and construction technology. Programs include access to a Student Success Program, which deals with study skills, coping with stress, expense budgeting and time management.
Central Westmoreland Career & Technology Center is in New Stanton, 18 miles southwest of Latrobe. Areas of study at Central Westmoreland are divided into six main areas: creative studies, construction, transportation/logistics studies, computer/technical studies, health/safety studies and manufacturing. The curriculum of each program is designed for students to complete their training in three years. Central Westmoreland Career & Technology Center is a part of the local public school system. It is operated by nine school districts in Westmoreland County.
Westmoreland County Community College is in Youngwood, 15 miles southwest of Latrobe. Westmoreland offers 54 associate degree, 13 diploma and 48 certificate programs with options that prepare students for careers or transfer to baccalaureate degree programs at four-year institutions.
