    • Pennsylvania is home to numerous vocational schools. The Fayette County Area Vocational-Technical School is a two-year public institution in Uniontown. The class size is relatively small with a 24-to-1 student-to-instructor ratio. It features 18 programs, including cosmetology, auto body, welding, masonry and auto mechanics.

      Mercer County Career Center is a two-year public school situated Mercer. Typically, classes have 10 students to every instructor. Some programs available include auto mechanics, auto body, building trade maintenance, culinary arts, cosmetology and office technology.

    New Hampshire

    • Manchester Community College sits in Manchester, New Hampshire. It features over 50 certificates and degrees.       Lincoln Technical Institute is a private two-year school that sits in the Whitestone section of Queens, New York. This school focuses on automotive technology and students receive hands-on training in electrical systems, drivability diagnostics, transmission and emissions systems. The program accepts financial aid, but does not have housing.

    Maine

    • Central Maine Community College is in Auburn, Maine. It is a public two-year college that awards certificates and associate degrees. The community college offers Liberal Arts, technical and career programs. You can take classes in the daytime, evenings and on Saturdays.
