Pharmacy Schools in the Northeast

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, pharmacists can expect excellent job opportunities in the fast-growing pharmaceutical field. Employment is expected to grow by 17 percent between 2008 and 2018. Getting into an accredited pharmacy school is the first step in starting your career as a pharmacist. There are several good pharmacy schools located in the Northeast.

    • The Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, is part of one of the largest colleges in the state of New Jersey. The school offers an educational program for a Doctorate of Pharmacy with a foundation in basic and clinical sciences along with an emphasis on patient care. The program offers multidisciplinary research and graduate education, as well as post doctoral training in pharmaceutical and biomedical sciences. Additionally the school offers postgraduate clinical residency and fellowship programs.

    Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences

    • The Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences is the oldest institution of higher learning in the city of Boston. The school offers a wide variety of undergraduate and graduate programs in the pharmaceutical sciences including studies in Pharmacology, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science and Pharmacology and Toxicology. The school also offers residencies and fellowships in pharmacy practice as well as postgraduate degree programs.

    University of Rhode Island

    • The College of Pharmacy at the University of Rhode Island offers state-of-the-art facilities to improve competitiveness in the job market and educate students in patient care and relations. Programs offered include the Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Doctor of Pharmacy, as well as joint programs with other schools within the University and also with the Rennes' School of Pharmacy in Rennes, France.
