Vocational Schools in Indiana

Although Indiana is not saturated with technical schools, the schools in the state offer a large variety of programs that can prepare students for just about any trade or career they choose. Many programs offer certificates that allow a graduate to start a new career, while some schools even offer associate's and bachelor's degrees.
  1. ITT Tech

    • With five campuses in Indiana, as well as a learning center, ITT Tech is one of the largest vocational schools in the state. Campuses are located in Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, Merillville, South Bend and Newburgh, and the learning center is in Greenwood. With the most campuses, ITT Tech is able to offer one of the largest choices of trade and vocational training in the state, with programs such as construction technology, web development, criminal justice, video game design and automation engineering, among many others. Each of the schools offers a bachelor's degree program as well an associate's degree and professional certificate program. ITT Tech also offers online programs to make it easier for students who work unusual hours or need the convenience of completing classes from home.

    Lincoln Technical Institute

    • Located in Indianapolis, Lincoln Technical Institute focuses on auto training programs. Degree programs include automotive tech, collision repair, diesel repair and maintenance, motorcycle technology and electronic systems. Lincoln Technical Institute also offers a program in high performance autos, which includes training in auto and engine modification, sport tuning and dyno-testing. The school also boasts a nationwide career placement program to assist graduates in finding jobs after graduation.

    TechSkills

    • With a focus in two main areas of training, including information technology and medical information technology, TechSkills offers numerous degree programs within area of study. Information technology programs include Cisco, Oracle and Microsoft certification as well as database administration, IT security, networking and web design. The medical information technology program includes training in medical billing, coding, transcription and pharmacy technician. The Indiana TechSkills campus is located in Indianapolis.
