In our modern, stress-filled society, more and more people enjoy, or are prescribed, massage therapy. The Department of Labor's Occupational Outlook for 2010 says the job growth prospects for massage therapists is expected to grow faster than average. Not every can become a therapist, however. It also offers an advanced-level 100-hour program, which provides more in-depth training in the core areas and training in specialized techniques, and additional classes to satisfy the state's continuing education requirements for massage therapists. The school has flexible class schedules, and holds sessions during the weekday, on the weekends, and in the evening to accommodate working students.

    Hands On Approach

      Hands On Approach offers a 500-hour Basic Massage Program which covers health and hygiene, business practicies, hydrotherapy, anatomy and physiology, kinesiology, theory and history of massage, Swedish massage therapy techniques, and an internship. The school also holds advanced classes and classes for continuing education credits. Students not only have class hours but also participate in serving customers in the school's spa. Hands On has day and night classes, and both fast and slow tracks, programs designed to be completed in either six months or thirteen months. All books and supplies are included in the tuition, and students can pay using either a financing plan or an interest-free payment plan.

    Sterling Health Center

    • Sterling teaches beginner, medical and sports massage.

      Sterling Health Center also offers a 500-hour beginner's massage therapy program to help students get ready to take the state certification test. Sterling has day and evening classes, and the whole program can be completed in five to seven months, depending on whether students attend full-time or part-time. New students can also choose to take the 600-hour Enhanced Massage Therapy Program, which covers all the basics but also includes a longer internship and more class hours in kinesiology and massage techniques. Sterling has additional classes for medical massage, sports massage, and continuing education credits as well.
