With locations in North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee, the Southeastern Institute offers a a clinically based massage-therapy curriculum that is accredited through the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges. Courses include advanced training in the treatment of degenerative ailments, postural distortions, and soft-tissue injuries. Students receive instruction in massage law, medical terminology and neuromuscular clinical massage techniques. Upon completion of 90 hours of practical clinical instruction, students will receive a certificate in Professional Clinical Massage Therapy, which makes them eligible to work in facilities such as rehabilitation centers, doctor's offices and day spas.
Located in Florence, Alabama, the North Alabama Wellness School of Massage is licensed by the Alabama State Department of Education and Alabama Board of Massage Therapy. Courses consist of 594 hours of clinical training and a 120-hour internship, where students will receive evaluation and assistance from a certified massage therapist on an individual basis. Courses include instruction in the fields of body conditioning, Swedish massage techniques, touch therapy, and deep tissue and medical massage.
Soothing Arts School of Massage, located in Miramar, Florida, offers both day and evening classes in massage therapy, which total 546 hours of clinical instruction. In addition to Swedish massage techniques, students receive training in Reflexology, Sports Massage and Lomi Lomi, in addition to hydrotherapy and spa training. Approved by the Florida Board of Massage Therapy, the Soothing Arts School of Massage is an accepted member of the AMTA Counsel of Schools. Upon completion of the program, students will be eligible to take the Massage Therapy National Certification exam.
Located in Asheville, North Carolina, the North Carolina School of Advanced Body Work offers small classes consisting of 14 students or less per class, and is accredited by the North Carolina Board or Massage Therapy and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The school's 500-hour program is available to both full-time and part-time students and day and night classes are available. Courses consist of class lectures, instructor lead demonstrations, creative expression, digital props and the practice of hands-on techniques between students. The program's second half includes participation in a student clinic, where students receive instruction on the practical and financial aspects relating to operating a massage-therapy business.
