Ogle School offers a 1,500-hour cosmetology/salon operator course to prepare stylists and make-up artists for a Texas state board license exam. The course curriculum includes instruction in hair cutting, coloring, styling and chemical processes, skin care and facials, nail care and make-up instruction. Students take theory courses in safety and sanitation, scalp care and diseases and other subjects, and gain practical experience with clients. Upon completion of the course, graduates are eligible to sit for the board exam. Ogle also offers a 750-hour advanced Esthetology/Facial course for students who want to specialize in skin care and treatments. Courses are available at five schools throughout the Dallas metro area, including downtown, North Dallas, Arlington, Fort Worth and Hurst.

The Tint School of Makeup and Cosmetology, in central Dallas, offers a cosmetology program that emphasizes modern, avant-garde looks. The school offers a 1,500-hour cosmetology program, as well as an advanced 640-hour master make-up artist course, both of which train students as stylists to work in salon and client settings as well as the editorial, advertising and film industries. The cosmetology program focuses on contemporary hair cutting techniques, color applications, hair extensions and braids, skin care, and make-up application for a variety of situations, such as weddings and photography.

Remington College, located in the Garland neighborhood, has a cosmetology diploma program designed to meet Texas state board requirements. The 48-week program prepares students for various aspects of cosmetology, including hair styling, manicures, facials and more. Remington College's cosmetology curriculum includes instruction in basic anatomy, physiology, scalp care, nail structure and an introduction to salon management. They also participate in internships at salons to get the hands-on experience required for cosmetology training. Upon completion of the program, students get a cosmetology diploma and are eligible to take the state board licensure exam.
