Dental Assistant Programs in New York State

In its Occupational Outlook Handbook, the Bureau of Labor Statistics describe the role of dental assistants as integral to the successful operations of a dental office. Dental assistants work with patients, organize, disinfect and sterilize instruments and equipment, and may assist dentists during procedures. Some dental assistants may take on office administrative duties, laboratory duties, or both. Dental assistants must complete an accredited program; there are many such programs in New York State.
