Columbia University's Business School was the top-rated MBA program in the state of New York in 2009, according to U.S. News & World Report. U.S. News ranked the program No. 9 among all MBA programs nationwide.
Founded in 1916, the Columbia Business School offers a variety of degree options in relation to the MBA and beyond it as well. The school is divided into five major academic divisions: accounting; management; marketing, decision, risk and operations; marketing and finance; and economics.
The school offers both the traditional full-time MBA and an executive MBA. Areas of concentration include the likes of finance and economics, value investing, social enterprise, real estate, private equity and international business, among others. The school also offers a Ph.D. and a Master of Science in Marketing.

The Stern School was founded in 1900 and has since evolved to offer a full array of business programs at the graduate level. MBA programs include a part-time option, the full-time option, an executive MBA program and a global executive MBA program. NYU also offers a Ph.D. in business.
Students can pursue an MBA in conjunction with a variety of other degrees offered at NYU such as the juris doctor (JD), master of fine arts (MFA), master of public administration (MPA) and the master of arts (MA) in politics. Cornell University's Johnson Graduate School of Management is the third highest-rated MBA program in New York. Located in Ithaca, the Johnson School was ranked No. 17 in the nation. The school offers a two-year MBA, an executive MBA and an accelerated MBA program.
Students can pursue an MBA in conjunction with other degrees as well such as the JD, MD, master of health administration (MHA), master of industrial and labor relations (MILR) and the master of engineering (MEng). Specializations within the program include consulting, ethics, entrepreneurship, international business, finance, leadership and sustainable global enterprise. Cornell also offers a Ph.D. in the areas of accounting, finance, marketing, management and organizations, and production and operations management.
