Bellingham Technical College offers an Associate of Applied Science degree in Dental Assisting as well as a certificate of Dental Assisting. The degree program consists of 90.5 credits while the certificate program consists of 85.5 credits; with fall or spring entry, the program itself follows a three quarter program sequence and all students are off during the summer. In addition to the class time, all students are required to have clinical experience equal to a minimum of 200 hours by the end of the last semester. As of March 2010, the tuition for the dental assisting program is $1,451 per quarter; the certificate program lasts approximately four quarters while the degree program lasts approximately five quarters.

Lake Washington Technical College (LWTC) offers a dental assistant program for either a dental assistant certificate or an Associate of Applied Science degree; the certificate program consists of 82 credits and lasts for one year while the degree program consists of 90 credits and lasts for two years. As of March 2010, the tuition for the certificate program is $8,376 and includes all fees associated with the program; for the degree program, the tuition and fees come to a total of $10,354. LWTC has a dental clinic where students gain hands on practice during their studies; an additional four to six week internship is required and to be completed in private dental practices.

Renton Technical College offers a four quarter dental assistant program that consists of 73 credits and prepares students to be employed at Certified Dental Assistants (CDA). There are three program options which include obtaining a certificate of completion, an Associate of Applied Science Degree or an Associate of Applied Science Transfer Degree. As of March 2010, tuition is $5,000 with the cost of $2,660 for supplies and students have a set schedule Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; on clinic days, the hours are extended. In the second quarter, students are required to work at least two hours each week after work at a dental office or clinic. During the last six weeks of the program, students participate in a full-time internship at a dentist office or clinic.
