The program offers concentrated courses in chair-side assistance, radio-graph development and dental materials. In addition, students gain valuable experience through two externships. The program also focuses on working with patients, office functions and procedural competence. The program lasts 16 months, offers financial aid and culminates in Associate Degree in Dental Assisting.

Sanford-Brown's Monroeville campus is recognized by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC). The program instructs students in chair-side assistance, dental laboratory procedures and office administration. In addition, students gain knowledge about x-rays and radiography, dental anatomy and instruments and materials. The program offers financial aid to those who qualify. Upon successful completion of the program, students are awarded a diploma in dental assisting.

Located 30 minutes outside Pittsburgh, the Career Training Academy offers an Expanded Function Dental Assisting (EFDA) course. The Career Training Academy is recognized by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT). After fulfilling all classroom requirements, students enter an externship program, working in professional dental offices. The program lasts 10 months, the equivalent of 900 hours. In addition, students can apply for financial aid and scholarships.
