Training through the Red Cross will meet state licensing requirements including the number of classroom hours as well as clinical practice and procedure time. This program is a steppingstone to advance toward a registered nursing profession. The Red Cross CNA course functions under a private school license, so tuition is needed. The prospective student must pass a criminal history report, pass a reading test, complete a physical and attend an orientation. The four-week course includes all the necessary nursing supplies. Students will learn to apply safe techniques to assist patients, record vital information, document on medical forms and charts, and respond properly to emergencies.
