Seattle Central Community College offers a three-quarter, 83.5-credit certificate in surgical technology, with the option of attaining an associate degree. The fall quarter is the only time students can begin the program. Throughout the program, students will engage in clinical training --- helping to adequately aid their hands-on knowledge. The surgical technology program is accredited by the Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting --- as well as the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.
CNI College's surgical technology program is a 48-week hands-on training course with day and night classes available. The program prepares its students to take the Surgical Technology National Certification Examination. After students have passed the exam, they will be certified surgical technologists. The surgical technology program is accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools and the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.
Malcolm X College offers a two-year associate degree program in surgical technology --- the only City College in Chicago offering surgical technology. The program is guided by the Association of Surgical Technology's Curriculum Committee. The surgical technology program prepares students to pass the Surgical Technology National Certification Examination. The program is accredited by the Committee Program on Allied Health Education and Accreditation --- also the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.
The Maine Medical Center School offers a one-year program in surgical technology. The first year, students attend Southern Maine Community College --- obtaining 46 credits in advanced standing. Then, approximately 20 credits are required at the Maine Medical Center in the second semester to complete the degree requirement. The program will prepare its students to adequately pass the Surgical Technology National Certification Examination offered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting. The institution is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Programs.
