• The High-Tech Institute in Irving offers a diploma in surgical technology. The Institute teaches the fundamentals of anatomy and physiology of the body systems. The program also provides hand-on training for surgical equipment and supplies, sterilization and setting up instruments. Each course that the program offers stands alone as a unit of study, so no prerequisite training or courses are required to enroll. A student can enter the program at the beginning of any course, at any time of year. Graduates of the program are eligible to sit for the National Center for Competency Testing Certification Examination to become a nationally accredited surgical technician.
