Courses in Surgical Technology

A surgical technologist assists the surgeon by handing her tools, sterilizing the tools and equipment or operating diagnostic equipment during a surgical procedure. Some surgical technologists or assistants also handle tissue or insert sutures. Surgical technology courses offer students the opportunity to earn a diploma or degree. Most schools that offer surgical technology degrees are technical or trade schools.
