Outboard Tech Schools

Marine technicians service motors used to operate a variety of sea- or river-going vessels. Technicians repair mechanical and electrical components of the outboard motor. Training and certification can be attained through technical colleges, community colleges and independent schools. Students have the option of obtaining an associate's degree or other certificate programs. In 2006 there were approximately 26,000 marine technicians employed in the nation. That number is expected to increase by 19 percent in the next decade.
