• The Surgical Technology students at Virginia College benefit from state of the art technology and equipment along with hands on training by a faculty that is committed to their success. Graduates will receive an Associate of Science degree in Surgical Technology that can be completed in 96 total credit hours. In addition, partnerships with area hospitals allow students to complete externships and gain clinical experience, giving them a real world learning environment.

  Virginia College currently has campuses in six states throughout the southeast that offer the Surgical Technology program: Alabama, Mississippi, Florida, Georgia, Texas and South Carolina.

MedVance Institute

• Students attending the MedVance Institute Surgical Technology program benefit from extensive side by side training with instructors in situations mimicking real world scenarios. By using the state of the art laboratory designed for drills and simulations, students get a first hand taste of what a career as a surgical technologist will entail. Upon completion of the program, which generally requires 12-24 months, students will be licensed in the field of Surgical Technology and able to practice in a variety of settings.

High Tech Institute

• Students looking to obtain the entry level skill set required to practice in the field of surgical technology will fit right in at High Tech Institute. Graduates will receive an Associate of Applied Science in Surgical Technology; in addition, students attending High Tech Institute will be eligible to complete an externship, giving them the opportunity to assist surgeons in the operating room, learning in a real world environment. Those who are looking for a general degree in Surgical Technology that will allow them to become employed as soon as possible have the additional option to pursue a Diploma of Surgical Technology.

  Currently, High Tech Institute offers the surgical technology program at seven locations, including campuses in Colorado, Missouri, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Georgia and Arizona.
