The automotive training program at Universal Technical Institute is designed to prepare students for entry-level careers as automotive technicians. In addition to receiving classroom training, students will learn the practical application of their instruction through apprenticeships, and by using cutting-edge technology to diagnose, service and repair both foreign and domestic vehicles. In addition, students will build high-performance engines and receive training in business skills.
The core program runs for 51 weeks; students also have the option of enrolling in a 60-week accelerated training course by specializing in automotive manufacturers like Ford, Nissan, Toyota and BMW. All of the programs offered at Universal Technical Institute are certified by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF).

The automotive technician course at American River College is accredited by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF), and it offers flexible full and part-time class schedules for working adults. The automotive technician certificate program is also recognized by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE), and it has industry partnership with a wide array of manufacturers, who hire graduates from ARC including European Auto Care, California Department of Education, Rocklin Landrover and Niello BMW. Students will receive hands-on technical training in various aspects of automotive technology in well-equipped workshops. Successful graduates from the program have access to job placement assistance through the college’s career center.

The associate program in automotive technology at Westwood College provides students with the essential automotive skills for entry-level jobs in various fields, such as fleet mechanic, transmission technician or parts sales manager. The program meets the certification standards of both the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF), and the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE).
