It has since risen in prominence to become India's top-ranked private university for law. Amity currently enrolls more than 50,000 students on its more than 700 acres of campus facilities. It was ranked among the top private universities in the field of engineering in India by Education Times.

Singhania University was founded in 2003 by philanthropist Shri D.C. Singhania. The university has four major academic divisions: engineering, management, biotechnology and allied health sciences. Chitkara University was founded in 1998 by Dr. Ashok Chitkara and Dr. Madhu Chitkara. Located in Chandigarh, in Northern India, the university is expanding its base of affiliate colleges.
