Ave Maria is a private Catholic university located in Ave Maria, Florida. The university was founded in 2003 and is the first new Catholic university in the United States since 1963. Annual enrollment at the university only averages about 600 full-time students, but a wide variety of degree plans are possible through the university curriculum. The school sponsors a graduate degree program in the field of Christian theology. At the undergraduate level, Ave Maria offers degrees in literature, math, physics, economics, theology, history, music, political science and Christian literature. In addition to its academic programs, the university has its own academic press and a business institute.

The university enrolls over 8,500 students annually and offers over 100 different degree programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
