Harness Racing Scholarship, sponsored by the Harness Horse Youth Foundation, is available for graduating high school seniors pursuing horse-related careers. Current undergraduate and graduate college students can also apply, but all applicants regardless of school status must be under the age of 25.
Scholarship eligibility requirements include experience with horses, demonstrated financial need and academic achievement. The number and amount of scholarships awarded varies each year.

High School Internet Challenge is a scholarship program open only to current high school students. Selected students compete locally in quiz bowls, and the winners from each locality compete at the national level. Sixteen winners in the national competition receive college scholarships, with typical awards ranging from $100 to $500.

High School Scholarship is funded by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Foundation. Graduating high school seniors that are NSCA members can apply for the program, which is intended for students planning to study in the strength and conditioning field. A minimum 3.0 GPA is required as well as demonstrated extracurricular achievement. Students can join NSCA at the time of their scholarship application. Letters of recommendation are also required. The program issues two awards of $1,000 each.

Horatio Alger Association Scholarship Program is open only to high school students with demonstrated financial need. Honorees can pursue any college major. Award criteria include a preferred combined annual family income of less than $50,000 as well as community service and extracurricular activities. The minimum required GPA is 2.0, and the amount and number of scholarships awarded varies annually.

AFSA National Essay Contest is open to high school students who are dependents of an active, retired or deceased U.S. government Foreign Service employee. The program requires a 750 to 1,000 word essay on a provided topic. The winning essay writer earns a $2,500 scholarship as well as an all-expenses paid trip to Washington, D.C. The scholarship winner’s school also receives a $500 award.
