Offering a two-year Associate in Science degree, Miami-Dade College offers rigorous dental hygienist training. Students learn to clean teeth, take dental X-Rays, and instruct patients in proper preventative dental care (such as promoting proper dental hygiene, diet, and a non-smoking lifestyle). The Catholic, private Barry University features a Pre-Dental program for college undergraduates.
