  1. Florida Technical College

    • Florida Technical College has three locations in central Florida--Lakeland, Deland and Orlando. In addition to federal student aid for qualified students, FTC students are also eligible for the Imagine America scholarship for vocational education. Programs offered include medical assisting, network administration, electronics, computer-aided design and drafting, web design and computer programming (both C++ and Java).

    Southern Technical College

    • Southern Technical College has four locations in central Florida--Orlando, Auburndale, Sanford and Mount Dora. Southern Technical College maintains ties to relevant area employers and has a robust career services department that also helps students work on their resumes, portfolios, interview abilities and job search skills. The school offers diplomas and associate degrees in medical assisting and HVAC as well as associate degrees in medical billing and coding and business management.

    Lake Sumter Community College

    • Lake Sumter Community College has three campuses (at Leesburg, Sumterville and South Lake) with a number of programs for those seeking a technical or vocational education. Lake Sumter offers certificate courses in computer programming, electrical distribution technology and information technology. Students can pursue Associate of Applied Science degrees in such fields as fire science and graphic design. Lake Sumter Community College has articulation agreements with Saint Leo University and the University of Central Florida.

    Concorde Career Institute/Concorde Career College

    • Concorde Career Institute and Concorde Career College are two branches of the same institution. The former is located in Orlando, while the latter is in Tampa. Both campuses are oriented toward professions in the medical field. Both campuses offer courses in patient care technology, dental assisting, medical assisting and surgical assisting technology. The Tampa campus offers additional classes in insurance coding and billing, pharmacy technology and respiratory therapy.

    Centura Institute

    • Century Institute is an Orlando-based career institute for those seeking technical training in the medical field. The school offers diploma programs in medical assisting, massage therapy, practical nursing, and medical billing and coding. Students can also pursue a degree in medical assisting.
