There are several options for students who are pursuing an opportunity to attend a technical college in Central Florida. Florida Technical College in Orlando, Mid Florida Tech in Orlando, and Central Florida College in Largo and Winterpark are all technical colleges that provide education and practical training for technical careers for Florida students.

    • Florida Technical College is a technical college located in Central Florida that offers many opportunities for students to prepare for careers in technical fields. Florida Technical College offers three campuses. The main campus is in Orlando while the college also offers branch campuses in Lakeland and Deland. The college is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges. It offers a number of program choices, including Medical Assistant, Network Administrator, Network Administrator with a focus on programming, Electronics and Computer Tech, Business and Management Technology, Computer Drafting and Design, Medical Administrative Assistant, Web and Graphics Design, Paralegal Studies, Criminal Justice, C++/Java Programming, Network Administration, Medical Assistant Technology and Medical Billing and Coding. The college's main goal is to educate and train students so that they will be able to find entry-level employment in their fields upon graduation.

    Mid Florida Tech

    • Mid Florida Tech is another technical college based in Central Florida. Mid Florida tech offers a wide-range of academic programs, namely Academics and Adult Education Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources Apprenticeships, Architecture and Construction, Arts, Audio Video Technology and Communications, Hospitality and Tourism, Information Technology Services, Public Service, Manufacturing, Marketing Sales and Services, and Transportation, Distribution and Logistics Services. Within these programs, prospective students have many choices for degrees and majors, including Plumbing Technology, Structural Steelwork, Air Conditioning Technology, Hotel and Resort Business Management, Computer Systems Technology, Applied Welding Technologies, Industrial Distribution and Management, Advanced Automotive Technology and Diesel Technology, just to name a few of the possibilities. Students who are interested in attending Mid Florida Tech must choose between studying toward a high school GED, enrolling in a technical degree program, or taking courses in the Adult Education program.

    Central Florida College

    • Central Florida College operates campuses in Largo and Winterpark, two communities in the heart of Central Florida. At the Largo Campus, students can choose to pursue a number of degrees in such fields as Cosmetology, Health Information Technology, Medical Assisting, Medical Basic X-Ray Technician and HVAC. At the Winterpark campus, students can choose between Health Information Technology, Medical Assisting, Medical Basic X-Ray Technician, Pharmacy Technology, Cosmetology, Dental Assistant, Facial Specialist and Cosmetology. The college helps graduating students locate jobs and search for employment through the Career Services Department, a nice perk for students who are looking for a practical end to their education.
