Augusta Technical College was founded in 1961. The school has campuses in Augusta, Thomson and Waynesboro. The college offers more than 100 degree and certificate programs within 30 academic and professional departments. Departments include accounting, computer programming, criminal justice, medical assisting and graphics technology. Columbus Technical College was founded in 1961. As of 2009, the school had more than 3,600 students. The college consists of three academic schools, including the schools of applied business, health sciences, and professional and technical services. Together, these schools offer 22 associate degree programs, 21 diploma programs and more than 40 technical certificate programs. The college also offers six degree programs, two diploma programs and three certificate programs online, as well as several continuing education programs.

Savannah Technical College was founded in 1929. As of 2009, the college has more than 4,000 students per term. The college has campuses in Savannah, Hinesville and Effingham County. Savannah Technical College offers 18 associate degree programs, 28 diploma programs and 54 certificate programs in five academic divisions, including business and technology, economic development, general studies, health sciences, and industrial and public service. The college offers a program called "Gateway to College" as part of a national effort to help high school drop-outs earn high school credits and diplomas and eventually attend college. The college also offers online education programs.
