Georgia Institute of Technology consists of 400 acres in the center of Atlanta and has 20,000 undergraduate and graduate students. Georgia Tech is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The institute has colleges of computing, architecture, engineering, sciences, management and liberal arts. This school is often ranked in U.S. News & World Report's top ten public universities in the United States, according to the Georgia Tech website. Georgia Tech has an NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletic program that includes football, basketball, golf, swimming and diving and volleyball.
North Georgia Technical College is a part of the Technical College System of Georgia. It is a public, multi-campus, two-year, residential technical college with campuses in Blairsville, Currahee and Clarkesville. The Clarkesville campus was originally home to the Georgia Ninth District School of Agriculture and Mechanical Arts. North Georgia Technical College offers programs for associate degrees, diplomas and technical certificates of credit. This technical college has programs in business, computing, health care and culinary arts.
Chattahoochee Technical College is located on several campuses, including the Appalachian, Austell, Canton, Marietta, Mountain View, North Metro, Paulding and Woodstock campuses. These areas are located in Jasper, Austell, Canton, Marietta, Acworth, Dallas and Woodstock, respectively. Chattahoochee Technical College offers programs in the arts and sciences, business sciences, computer sciences and engineering technology, personal and public services, health sciences and technical studies. Tuition depends on credit hours and whether the student is from Georgia, out-of-state or international.
Georgia Northwestern Technical College serves the counties of Catoosa, Dade, Chattooga, Gordon, Floyd, Walker and Polk. It has four campuses located in Rome, Calhoun, Rockmart and Rock Spring. This technical colleges offers approximately 200 programs of study in the fields of health, industry, business and public service. GNTC offers associate degrees, diplomas and technical certificates of credit. As of February 2011, the school enrolls around 8,200 students. Tuition varies depending on credit hours, and students taking 15 credit hours or more pay $675 each quarter.
