Jefferson State Community College has a clinical laboratory technology program that leads to an associate degree upon successful completion of the program. This program teaches students how to assist physicians with disease diagnosis and treatment by performing various biological and chemical blood analyses. This program is designed to be completed in six semesters, or two years, of full-time study. Students will take courses such as lab calculations, hematology, clinical chemistry, immunohematology, microbiology and laboratory techniques. Students who complete this program will be able to take the national examination to become certified as a clinical laboratory technologist.

Atlanta Technical College has a dental laboratory technology program that prepares students to enter the dental field as a laboratory technologist. An individual who is already in the field as a dental laboratory technician may also enroll in this program to update his knowledge and advance his current skill set. Graduates earn a diploma upon successful completion of this program. Students must choose between two specialization areas: complete dentures and removable partial dentures or dental ceramics and crown and bridge. Students will take courses that include principles of occlusion, tooth morphology, introduction to dental technology, anatomy and physiology of the head and neck and physics and chemistry of dental materials.

Portland Community College offers a medical laboratory technology program that leads to an Associate of Applied Science degree at graduation. The program has an extension program option that is available for students living outside of the Portland area; Portland Community College has a partnership with other community colleges and laboratories in Oregon to provide students with this option. The extension option gives students the opportunity to complete the prerequisite courses at their local college while completing the major courses online. The medical laboratory technology program can be completed in two years and students will take courses that include medical technology, immunohematology, bacteriology and hematology.
