Stony Brook University has a weekend occupational therapy program that is designed for students who are occupational therapy assistants. This program admits students into the program every year in the summer semester. Students in this program will take courses that include occupational therapy in pediatrics; foundations of occupational therapy; community; occupation and health; disability studies; and principles of instruction.

Misericordia University has an occupational therapy program that requires students to meet for the program every other weekend on Saturdays and Sundays between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Certified occupational therapy assistants who are admitted into the program will earn both a bachelor’s degree in general studies as well as their master’s degree in occupational therapy and students can expect to complete this program in three years. Students will take courses that include human development, impairments and disabilities and conceptual foundations.

Belmont University has a weekend occupational therapy program that leads students to earn a master of science degree upon completion. This program is primarily designed for students who are occupational therapy assistants as well as physical therapy assistants. Each year, no more than 32 students are accepted into the program and will complete the program in six semesters. Students will attend the campus courses on every third weekend; all other courses will be taken online. Students will take courses that include foundations in occupational therapy, kinesiology in occupational therapy and developmental influences on living.

Philadelphia University has an occupational therapy program that leads to a master of science degree and is delivered in an intensive format on the weekends. Students in this program meet on two weekends in each month on Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for eight weekends in each semester. Students can expect to complete this course in two and one half years. Courses include applied neuroanatomy, assessment and intervention of adults, foundations for practice and occupational competence.
