Western Kentucky Colleges

When considering a plan for obtaining a higher education degree, the atmosphere surrounding the school is a deciding factor for many students.     • Located in Bowling Green, Western Kentucky University offers the opportunity to earn both undergraduate and graduate degrees. The University is divided into a number of separate colleges, each specializing in a specific field. Students may also join extra curricular activities as well as sports organizations throughout their undergraduate studies. Western Kentucky University Colleges include the Gordon Ford College of Business, the Ogden College of Science and Engineering, the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences, the College of Health and Human Services, and the Porter College of Arts and Letters. As of the 2010 academic year, undergraduate students can expect tuition costs of $315 per credit hour for resident students and $785 per credit hour for non-resident students. Graduate costs are $416 per credit hour for resident students and $461 per credit hour for non-resident students. Financial aid options are available.

    West Kentucky Community and Technical College

    • Prospective college students looking to earn an Associate's Degree may consider the academic programs offered by West Kentucky Community and Technical College. The school offers convenient classes for students in need of a flexible schedule and a number of degree programs to suit each student's needs. In addition to Associate's Degrees, students may also obtain a diploma or certificate in their selected field to enter the workforce sooner. Programs include the fields of business studies, criminal justice, cosmetology, culinary arts, dental assisting and hygiene, diagnostic medical sonography, health sciences, manufacturing industrial technology, nursing, respiratory care, visual communications and many more. Tuition costs as of 2010 are $130 per credit hour for resident students and $445 per credit hour for non resident students; the school offers financial aid options for qualified students. In addition, credits earned at the college may be transferred a four-year university.

    University College Commonwealth School

    • The University College Commonwealth School is a campus of Western Kentucky University designed for students who are looking to earn an Associate or technical degree instead of attending a four year study program. Students may earn an Associate Degree and also have the opportunity to transfer their credits earned into a four year program at Western Kentucky University. Degree options include courses through the business division, hospitality management, paralegal studies, emergency medical technician, and general studies leading to an Associate of Interdisciplinary Studies degree. As of the 2010 academic year, in state students can expect tuition costs of $3780 per semester; out of state students can expect tuition costs of $9420 per semester. Financial aid is available.
