Only accepting 38 students per year, Eastern Michigan University offers a bachelor's degree program online and at the campus. The master's degree program is offered exclusively online. The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey School of Health Related Professions requires prospective students be registered dietitian technicians before applying to the school. The highly competitive program accepts only 35 students per year. It requires completion of 70 credits for a Bachelor of Science degree and to take the RD certification exam. The program is offered only online and costs about $9,810 annually for all students.

While the online University of Northern Colorado 31-credit curriculum mimics the accredited on-campus dietetic program, the distance learning program is not accredited. Although the school has fewer credits than the other programs listed, an internship is not part of the curriculum. The internship has a separate application process and applicants are not guaranteed one. Tuition is about $9,000 for the program.
