In order to be accepted in the MA program, applicants must hold an undergraduate degree or be over 30 years of age and have relevant professional experience and training. The MA degree requires 40 credits for graduation and includes courses such as ethnicity and ethnic relations; the emergence of modern humans; marriage, gender and religion; and applied anthropology.
Commonwealth Open University is accredited by the accreditation department of the Wiener School for Advanced Studies on Global Education and Distance Learning.

The University of North Texas offers a three-year, 36 credit-hour Master's of Arts or Master's of Science in applied anthropology. Course work can be completed completely online, but students do have to visit the campus for an orientation at the beginning of the program and for project presentations at the end.
Courses are offered twice a year, in fall and winter semesters. Class work is completed through the Blackboard online learning system.
Classes consist of discussion groups, readings, group projects and individual projects. Course options include problems and cases in applied anthropology, anthropological thought, two practicum courses, and five elective options.
The University of North Texas is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, and the Anthropology Department is a member of the American Anthropological Association and the Consortium of Practicing and Applied Anthropology Programs. Required courses include anthropological thought and praxis, quantitative methods and ethnographic and qualitative methods.

Oregon State University's Extended Campus online anthropology degree concludes with a Bachelor's of Art or Bachelor's of Science in General Anthropology. Oregon State's e-campus program delivers course work through the Internet, DVD and streaming video.
The General Anthropology undergraduate degree requires at least 180 credit hours, including 45 baccalaureate core credits, at least 30 credits from the College of Liberal Arts and 49 credits from the curriculum of General Anthropology major classes.
Course options include comparative cultures, peoples of the world-North America, evolution of people, technology and society and cultures in conflict.
