Online Canadian Degrees

Getting a university degree online is an option for those who don't wish to or are not able to participate in traditional, classroom-based learning. Online course options at Canadian universities allow you to complete a degree in which you already have earned some credits in addition to beginning a new degree program.
  1. Athabasca University

    • Athabasca University calls itself "Canada's Open University" and offers almost all of its programs online. Admission requirements are flexible, with anyone over 16 considered eligible to register for courses. Depending on availability, you can start most programs and courses at any time during the year. Bachelor of Arts degrees are available over a wide range of subject areas, as well as Bachelor of Science programs in human science and information systems. Athabasca University also offers business degrees such as Bachelor of Commerce, MBA and Doctorate in Business Administration.

    Thompson Rivers University

    • Thompson Rivers University started as a community college in 1970, but the institution now grants full degrees. The school offers a combination of traditional classroom education and technology-based online programs, and most courses have flexible start and end dates. Thompson Rivers University offers online bachelor's degrees in a number of disciplines including arts, science, commerce, technology, tourism and design.

    Laurentian University

    • Laurentian University is a traditional classroom-based university with a few online programs delivered through the Envision program at the Centre for Continuing Education. Online, Laurentian University primarily offers 3-year programs for Bachelor of Arts degrees, as well as a nursing degree.

    Memorial University

    • Memorial University is a traditional university that has been offering distance education for over 40 years. More than 400 courses are available online, but only a few full degrees can fully be earned over the Internet. Bachelor's degrees available online include arts in policing, business administration, technology and nursing. Memorial University also offers online master's degrees in nursing, education and social work.

    University of Manitoba

    • The University of Manitoba offers a few online bachelor's degrees through its Distance and Online Education department. Course schedules are flexible; classes can start at any time throughout the year. The university offers online bachelor's degrees in Canadian studies, geography, history, politics, psychology and social work.
