Canadian Virtual University is really an association of Canadian universities that offers more than 350 online degrees and certificates. CVU is comprised of 10 Canadian universities, which include Athabasca University, Mount Royal University, the University of Manitoba and the University of New Brunswick. Besides several diplomas and certificates, CVU offers 53 bachelor's degrees, two doctorates and 20 master's degrees. CVU accepts students worldwide. Not all of its online courses, however, are available to those living outside Canada.

University of Canada West, with physical campuses in Vancouver and Singapore, offers online courses leading to five bachelor's degrees and one master's degree. UCAN's online programs are available only to residents of Canada. Besides earning a degree online at UCAN, students may complete work they began at another institution.

Established in 1976, University of Phoenix offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in business, arts and sciences, nursing, education and information technology, among other areas. Though it's based in the US, it welcomes Canadian students to take its distance-learning programs, and all programs are accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC).
