Tennessee State University offers an online master's degree program in speech and hearing science with a concentration in speech-language pathology; students who complete this program earn a master of science degree upon completion. Students can expect to complete the program in two years and will be required to enroll in a practicum each semester. Students can be prepared to take courses including studies in articulation disorders, anatomy and physiology, language development, neuroanatomy and neurophysiology and organic speech disorders dysphasia.

Idaho State University offers an online master's degree in speech-language pathology that begins in August of each year. Students who have a bachelor's degree in communication sciences or those with a bachelor's degree in another field may apply to the preprofessional program prior to admission to the master's degree program. Students are only required to be on campus for the clinical practicums during the first and second summer for six to eight weeks each time. Students will take courses including school-age language development and disorders; principles of research in communication disorders; fluency disorders in children and adults; and advanced issues in language disorders.

The University of Northern Colorado offers an online program in speech language pathology that leads to a master of arts degree; this program is designed for students to complete in three years and prepares them for entry-level work as a pathologist. Before students are able to begin, they must have earned a bachelor's degree in either communication disorders or speech language and audiology sciences. Students are only required to be on campus during the first summer for two to three weeks and for the internship that lasts for 12 weeks in a medical setting. Students are admitted into the program every two years and will take courses that include aural rehabilitation and amplification; feeding and swallowing: lifespan; interpretation and evaluation of behavioral research; and speech production disorders.
