Penn State Online Programs

Penn State University, located in State College, Pennsylvania, offers more than 60 online courses to graduate and undergraduate students through its World Campus program. Classes are regionally accredited through the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. Tuition rates vary per class and degree, but students taking at least six credits per semester and meeting federal requirements can apply for financial aid. Penn State offers three additional scholarships for online students only.
  1. Graduate Degrees

    • Students interested in obtaining a master's degree can take any one of 20 graduate courses online for an application fee of $65 and the price of the course. Penn State offers several classes in education and professional studies, plus graduate courses in business administration, engineering, geographic information systems, homeland security, project management, public administration and software engineering.

    Undergarduate Degrees

    • Bachelor's and associate's degrees are available in the arts or sciences for a $50 application fee and the cost of the class. A B.S. can be obtained in business, criminal justice, nursing and psychology, with associate's degrees available in business administration, hotel and restaurant management, and human development. Students can work toward a science degree in information technology and turfgrass management. A B.A. can be gained in law or psychology, with associate's or bachelor's available in letters.

    Graduate Certificates

    • Penn State provides graduate and post-baccalaureate certificates in a variety of fields. For $30 and course fees, students can receive graduate certificates in agriculture, applied behavior, statistics, children's literature, geriatric nursing, homeland security, public health safety, supply-chain management and project management. Post-baccalaureate recognition can be gained in several educational disciplines, as well as community development, geographic information systems, geospatial intelligence and information system security. Additional certificates are available for Reading Instruction for Special Education, or RISE.

    Undergraduate Certificates

    • Undergraduate certificates come without an application fee and include such topics as adult development and aging, family services, digital arts, hospitality, information technology, nursing management, turfgrass management and weather forecasting. Penn State also offers SAP certification for students seeking to use or promote the company's software.
