  1. Arizona School of Health Sciences

    • Arizona School of Health Sciences in Mesa offers a Master of Science in occupational therapy. It is a full-time, 28-month program. The requirements for the program include a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA and 2.5 science GPA on a 4.0 scale and suitable GRE scores. For applicants with a GPA above 3.0, GRE scores are not required. Other necessities include college transcripts, a personal resume and prerequisite courses including anatomy, physiology, introductory psychology, English and medical terminology. The applicant must supply two letters of recommendation. One must be written by a present or former faculty member, academic adviser or employer, and the other from a professional in the occupational therapy field, according to Arizona School of Health Sciences.

    Midwestern University

    • Located in Glendale, Midwestern University offers a Master of Occupational Therapy degree (M.O.T.). This 27-month, full-time program normally places graduates in rehabilitation hospitals, behavioral health settings, senior living facilities, private physician practices, mental health facilities and business industries, according to Midwestern University.

      Minimum requirements for acceptance to the program include a GPA of 2.75 in an undergraduate degree program and prerequisite courses including anatomy, physiology, statistics, human development, abnormal psychology and social behavioral science. The applicant must also have taken a first-aid course within three years of the application and have a current CPR certification, according to Midwestern University.

    Pima Medical Institute

    • With campuses in Mesa and Tucson, Pima Medical Institute offers an occupational therapy assistant degree. Upon completion, graduates are eligible to take the national certification exam provided by the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy.

      The program is a 20-month, full-time program, consisting of day classes, according to Pima Medical Institute. Applicants are required to have a high school diploma or GED. They will also need to take an entrance exam and interview. Once accepted, students will take classes such as medical terminology, psychology, principles of occupational therapy in mental health and human occupations.
