Belmont University

• Belmont University is a Christian college located in Nashville. The university's School of Occupational Therapy offers students a Doctorate of Occupational Therapy degree and a Master of Science in occupational therapy. The master's degree program is an accelerated program intended to allow occupational therapy assistants to earn a higher degree. Courses are held every third weekend, drawing OT practitioners, physical therapy assistants and other health care professionals from around the country. Tennessee State University

• Tennessee State University's School of Allied Health Professions in Nashville, Tenn., is home to the university's occupational therapy program. Students who complete the program earn a Master of Science in occupational therapy degree. Students can earn an undergraduate degree in health sciences at Tennessee State University then enter the occupational therapy program, or a student can enroll in the program with any undergraduate degree as long as they have completed nine prerequisite courses. The successful completion of the Master of Occupational Therapy program at TSU qualifies graduates to take the state's certification exam.

Milligan College

• Milligan College is a Christian liberal arts school in Milligan College, Tenn. The school offers a Master of Science in occupational therapy degree. Milligan works closely with Wellmont Health System, Johnson City Medical Center and other area businesses to provide clinical opportunities to students in the MOT program. Students who enroll in the program must have a bachelor's degree and meet prerequisite courses and requirements. University of Tennessee, Chattanooga

• The University of Tennessee Chattanooga, in conjunction with the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, offers an occupational therapy program in which students can earn a Bachelor of Science degree in rehabilitation science with a concentration in occupational therapy. Students who are accepted at the University of Tennessee are not automatically accepted into the occupational therapy program. They must follow separate application procedures for the OT program at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
