Boston University's College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, also called Sargent College, offers a doctor of occupational therapy program that can be completed online. This program is intended for practicing occupational therapists who plan to take on a leadership role in their field without taking a leave from their career. Each student teams up with a faculty member who provides personal, one-on-one advice and guidance throughout the program. Enrollment occurs at the beginning of the fall, spring or summer terms, and two courses are required each semester. During the 20-month program, courses that include health promotion and wellness, theory analysis and program evaluation lead up to a cumulative doctoral project and a capstone course.
