The University of Hartford in Connecticut offers a combined Bachelor of Science in Health Science and Doctor of Physical Therapy program. In order to enter the physical therapy program, you must first earn your bachelor's degree. According to the school's website, it is possible to complete the bachelor's program in three years. Students may enter this program as freshmen, or transfer later in their college careers. One of the requirements for admission is at least 10 hours of physical therapy volunteer work.

This program offers either six or seven year programs, depending on the student's major and the options that suit their needs for financial aid. Entry into the DPT program usually occurs in the junior year of six-year students. Freshman level entry into the program is available, but it has rigorous requirements, including specific GPA and entrance exam scores, volunteer work, participation in campus activities, and completion of specific pre-requisites. Students in the DPT program will also have a yearly criminal background check performed.

Boston University's Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences offers two combined bachelor's/DPT programs. One track has a B.S. in health sciences and the other track has a B.S. in athletic training. Both of these programs are accelerated, meaning that you will complete them in six years. Each track has a study abroad option, should you want to study overseas. If you enter this program as a freshman, you will only have to complete your initial application. Transfer students will have to apply for the DPT program separately after completion of their undergraduate prerequisites.
