Established in 1841 (then known as St. John's College), Fordham University is a leading private Jesuit institution in New York. With four campuses in New York City and nearby metropolitan area communities, the Lincoln Center campus in midtown Manhattan hosts the university's pre-medical program. Fordham's undergraduate pre-medical professional program includes all of the basic courses for students that plan to apply to graduate medical programs. General biology, chemistry, organic chemistry and physics are all part of Fordham program's basic requirements, in addition to a semester of study in a mathematics course. Found in the central Texas city of Waco, Baylor University was chartered by the state in 1845. The university features several pre-professional programs for health professions, including a pre-medicine program. The Baylor pre-medicine program, like many undergraduate pre-medical tracks of its kind, has rigorous admissions requirements. Students take four semesters of biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics courses, as well as English and humanities related classes as part of the university's pre-medicine track. Additionally, the university recommends that students also enroll in foreign language, fine arts and social and behavioral science classes to diversify their medical school applications.

An independent Catholic university, Saint Xavier University is in the Illinois metropolis of Chicago. The university's 43 undergraduate programs include a pre-health professions track, which serves as a foundation for students wishing to pursue higher education at medicinal, pharmacy, dental and veterinary schools. The pre-professional track is housed within the university's College of Arts and Sciences. The pre-health professions track includes biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics courses, and is taken concurrently with a biology major course of study.
