The College of Medical Sciences is part of the Health Professions Division of Nova Southeastern University. Medical courses take place on the main campus, located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and the North Miami Beach campus, located in North Miami Beach, Florida. One of the degrees offered by this college is the Master of Biomedical Science degree. This program is primarily for those who wish to follow a career in health care. The Medical University of South Carolina began in 1824 as a small private medical school. As of early 2011, the school is one of the nation's top academic health science centers, and features a 700-bed medical center. The school consists of six different medical colleges that train approximately 2,600 health care professionals per year, according to the school web page. It offers programs in psychiatry, dental, health professions, nursing and pharmacy. The campus is located in Charleston, South Carolina, which is the oldest city in the state. The on-campus medical center is made up of five different hospital divisions, which are the University Hospital, MUSC Children's Hospital, Storm Eye Institute, the Institute of Psychiatry and the Ashley River Tower.

The University Hospital is located on the Birmingham campus, which consists of 885,000 feet of operating suites, procedure rooms, medical surgical units, intensive care units and an emergency department.

As of 2010, the school had a total enrollment of almost 11,000 students. The school has many research facilities in and around Atlanta, which include the Woodruff Memorial Research Building, Rollins Research Center, Winship Cancer Institute, Biomedical/Dental Building, vaccine research center and the Whitehead Memorial Research Building.
