Goteborg University is one of Sweden’s most comprehensive institutions of higher education. It offers a range of research and academic study courses in the fields of health care sciences, odontology, medicine, and pharmacy. The Karolinska Institute in Stockholm is one of the largest neuroscience research centers in Europe. The institute is a well-equipped biomedical research facility that aims to train future leaders in neuroscience research. Founded in 1810, it covers all of medicine, from public health and caring science to research into human genomics using advanced technological methods. Courses include medical biochemistry, biophysics, and surgical science, just to mention a few. The institute achieved success in fundamental cell biology, including research into early development of the nervous system, diabetes, and forms of cancer. The Karolinska Institute offers study programs for nurses, postgraduate education, and master's degrees. It also has a network of teachers and students all over the world. Established in 1965, the Umea University is the oldest university in Sweden. The university educates more than 33,000 students, including master's and doctoral students. It has more than 4,200 employees and 300 professors. The Umea University has five faculties and seven colleges along with additional campuses in the cities of Skelleftea and Ornskoldsvik.
