Occupational Nursing Schools

Occupational nursing schools are designed to train occupational health nurses (OHNs). OHNs are registered nurses who independently observe an employee's health related to his or her job responsibilities. OHNs recognize and prevent health effects from exposure to hazardous material and treat employee injuries and illness. The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) supports 17 educational institutions that prepare individuals for occupational health nursing.
