Southern Technical College is a small, private college with campuses throughout the Orlando area, including Sanford. The college offers three diploma programs and associate of arts programs in medical assisting, applied electronics technology HVAC and medical billing. An online program is being developed as of March 2010. It will allow for nationwide enrollment. Federal financial aid is available to all who qualify. All students are required to schedule a personal interview with an admissions professional before being accepted.

Seminole State College, formerly Seminole Community College, offers the widest variety of degree and certificate programs of the colleges in Sanford. The highest degrees awarded are two-year associate of arts and associate of science degrees in programs ranging from architecture, business, computer science, communications, education and performing arts to general studies, transfer degrees. Certificate diplomas are also available in a wide variety of majors, including medical records transcription, advanced home health aide, patient care assisting, web development and child care management. All federal financial aid is accepted, and the college advertises tuition rates that are 30 percent less than the state university average.

Angley College is a small, private technical college. The Sanford campus offers programs focused on careers in the medical field. Students can pursue diplomas in areas such as medical insurance billing, X-ray machine operation, patient care, dental assisting, lab assisting and nurse assisting. The main campus in nearby Deland, Florida, also offers online programs that lead to associate of science degrees in medical assisting, medical insurance billing and business office administration, as well as bachelor or science programs in health care management and business administration. All federal financial aid, including Pell grants and Stafford loans, are accepted at Angley.
