Founded in 1935, Del Mar College has programs granting associate degrees, enhanced skill certificates, certificates of achievement and marketable skills awards in more than 50 majors and more than 140 career fields. Del Mar serves about 22,000 credit and noncredit learners annually and employs more than 300 full-time faculty members, 90 percent of whom have master's degrees or higher. Classes are scheduled from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday. The school also offers honors programs, a Senior Citizens Education program, intramural sports programs and many exhibits and performances. According to College Board data, the most popular majors for associate degrees at Del Mar are health professions, business/marketing, liberal arts and education. Academic programs at CBC include college preparatory studies, kinesiology and health science, language, mathematics and physics, science, social sciences and humanities, and fine arts.
