Central Texas College is a community college in Killeen offering associate's degrees in numerous fields of study, including art, music, computer science, business and many others. Although an open-admission school, CTC caters largely to military students, both in Ft. Hood and in many other locations. According to the school website, classes are offered in over 100 locations, including military bases, ships at sea, and even correctional institutions.

According to the college website, this stand-alone university began in 1999 as the central Texas branch of Tarleton University, becoming part of the Texas A&M system in 2009. Approximately 30 percent of students enrolled are connected with the military, and some degrees are offered entirely on the Ft. Hood base.
