Undergraduate studies in photography are offered at Gallaudet University, a school for the deaf and hard-of-hearing. Graduate studies are offered to hearing students as well. The requirements for a BA incorporate 40 hours of general studies, 12 hours of pre-major courses, 36 hours of major and related courses and 32 elective hours for a total of 120 hours. An internship is required.

Presenting locations not only in Savannah, Georgia but in Atlanta, Hong Kong and Lacoste, SCAD offers e-learning too. Twenty-five hours of core curriculum in Drawing I and II, 2-D Design, and Color Theory, 90 hours of general education, 45 hours of photographic concentration, including Black/White Techniques, Color Techniques, History of Photography and Studio Lighting, to name a few, are required for a total of 180 hours.
